Children's Heel Pain
Heel pain are very common foot problems that people can experience at any time during there life regardless of age. Children ages around 9 through 13 can experience heel pain when running, jumping or standing. This is often times called Calcaneal Apophysitis and it occurs during the time the child's growth plates are beginning to fuse. It is an inflammation of the growth center in the heel. The treatment for that is first x-rays to rule out any bone pathology. Once the diagnosis is confirmed modifying the child's shoe wear is the treatment of choice along with taking something for the pain if it is necessary.
